Its actually very interesting, Theres a video on youtube by Veritasium (search Can You Recover Sound From Images?) where people restore sound from a image, well of course anime factor kicks in but with AI analysing video footage it actually is doable?

Its probably possible, but you probably need a good image / video. The video was 10 years old from a security camera, and the "targets" were facing sideways / backwards. No way you can generate accurate sound data from that.

The data wasn't generated from the people but from the objects in the area

As a software developer myself, it is next level. Being able to recreate past footage based on data, tracking someone using just their body frame, it is far from just hacking.

It is the use of ML/AI at its peak, something we dont have as of yet.

to be fair tho isnt this anime set on something like a cyberpunk timeline ? i mean they are supposed to be technologically advanced not at the same level as ours right now. feels like AI stuff have advanced tremendously in that time line
